Space is fundamental to modern warfare and security. It is now recognised as a military domain in its own right, with space-based assets playing an essential role in supporting operations. That is why the Defence Select Committee have launched an inquiry to examine the Government’s approach to developing and protecting the UK’s defence space capabilities.
As part of the first evidence session of the inquiry, the Committee spoke with Dr Mark Hilborne, Lecturer in the Defence Studies Department at Kings College London, and Dr Mark Presley, Consultant on Space Policy and Strategy at MAP Analytica, to hear their thoughts.
