I am pleased to be leading a free UK Government initiative to support local businesses and to help them take advantage of global export opportunities.
The initiative, known as the Parliamentary Export Programme, is a new scheme from the Department for International Trade that will provide businesses with a series of events to help them access the support they may need to boost exports or to tap into potential new markets across the world. In Wales, the Welsh Government have also been invited to take part.
Whether a business is new to exporting, has exported in the past, or is a current exporter, participating in the programme will equip them with the support and tools they need to begin or continue their exporting journey. Experts from a range of businesses and groups will be on hand during the sessions to answer questions and offer advice.
Indeed, helping local businesses survive and then recover from the pandemic is one of my, and this Government’s, top priorities and growing into new markets through exporting is one way in which businesses gain strength out of the pandemic so I am delighted to be hosting these events to help provide advice and assistance.
The events are free and I hope businesses in Wrexham will come forward and take part.
