It was great to welcome the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak, to Wrexham today to campaign for Jeremy Kent, the Welsh Conservatives Senedd candidate!
Rishi, along with the Secretary of State for Wales, Simon Hart, and myself all went out in Wrexham to support Jeremy and the Welsh Conservatives, dropping leaflets, meeting constituents and discussing how the UK Government can further support North Wales.
It was particularly great to have the Chancellor in Wrexham given the boost his recent Budget gave to the town and to the region more widely through the acceleration of the North Wales Growth Deal, the extension of the Levelling Up Fund to Wales and the announcement of other funding opportunities such as the Community Ownership Fund. It was therefore great to be able to showcase Wrexham to the Chancellor and to discuss with residents of Wrexham about the ways in which the UK Government is currently supporting them.
