It is humbling to have been elected to represent the great people of Wrexham. I look forward to providing residents with a strong local voice over the next 5 years.
I’d like to thank my constituents for placing your trust in me and for making history, electing the first female and first Conservative MP for Wrexham and the first female Conservative MP for Wales.
Wrexham was the first brick to be removed from Labour’s ‘red wall’ of leave supporting strongholds in North Wales. Breaking the 20 year old ‘Labour lock’ that has dominated local issues in Wrexham since the creation of the Welsh Assembly. With many powers having been devolved to the Welsh Labour Government in Cardiff and having had both a Labour AM and MP in the Constituency, services have deteriorated due to a lack of accountability as local representatives refuse to speak up against their own party. I will be a constant and robust voice in Westminster ensuring our precious services see the improvements they deserve.
On Thursday people voted for change, they voted for improved services and for a strong local voice. I look forward to getting stuck in. No more deadlock. Just a positive, bright future for Britain under a new Conservative Government that will get Brexit done!
