Below is a full transcript of Sarah Atherton MP article for the September copy of Essentials Mag.
'Last month, I launched a transport survey as an increasing number of worried constituents have contacted me about the state of roads, parking, and connectivity in Wrexham. Now that we are a city, transport connectivity within Wrexham, across Wales, and cross-border with England has never been more important. We need to fully grasp the opportunities that are heading our way and capitalise on Wrexham’s new city status by meeting the transport needs of residents, local businesses, and tourists. Wrexham needs a transport structure to operate like the capital of North Wales. As transport issues are largely devolved to the Welsh Government, we need to send them a message! If you have not done so already, please log onto my website and fill in the ‘Transport Survey’ under ‘Surveys’.
It was a real pleasure to host my second Business Networking Event at Moneypenny’s HQ in Wrexham, alongside a guest speaker from Wrexham Council. Having held the first Business Networking Event back in March, since then, Wrexham has gained city status and there was much to discuss at the second event in terms of economic and employment opportunities, inward investment, and growth. It was an excellent chance to meet new businesses and put businesses who do not know each other in touch with one another. During the event, we heard from businesses from across our new city and discussed how we can all harness the multitude of opportunities that are heading our way so that we can promote all that Wrexham has to offer on a national and global stage. Business leaders from the town centre, the industrial estate, and across Wrexham were able to gain direct access to the Council Chiefs, asking questions about planning, rates, and business support.
These events are run for businesses, so if any businesses would like to come along or if you have any suggestions for speakers for the next event, please do not hesitate to email sarah.atherton.mp@parliament.uk.
As always, every month, I have the pleasure of talking with Premier Radio to discuss the work I undertake in Parliament and Wrexham. Recently, we caught up on the momentous past month in UK politics, so if you haven't caught it yet, head over to my website and click on ‘Premier Radio Interviews’ under the ‘About Sarah’ section.
Lastly, if you are a resident of Wrexham and need my assistance with any local or national issue, please contact me by emailing sarah.atherton.mp@parliament.uk.'
