Having been contacted by many rail associations in relation to the shoddy Welsh Labour Government-run Transport for Wales service, I was keen to raise these concerns in the House of Commons during Business Questions. To see the question being raised in the Chamber, click here. Sadly, I do not think anyone is a stranger to Transport for Wales’ overcrowded service fraught with cancellations, severe delays, and poor passenger information. The Leader of the House of Commons, Penny Mordaunt MP, confirmed that the Rail Minister, Huw Merriman MP, is planning to meet with the Welsh Deputy Minister for Climate Chance to see what can be done to improve services.
There is no denying that Transport for Wales has failed, and my constituents deserve better than cattle class. Most alarmingly, the Welsh Government’s Welsh Roads Review plan to steer Wrexham residents towards using public services is fundamentally flawed: running rail services into the ground only pushes people towards their cars.
