I'll continue to object to the Welsh Government’s 20mph blanket zones, lack of road upgrades, and poor Transport for Wales train services. Wrexham's now a city and deserves the road and rail links to match. I'm also lobbying the UK Government to bring forward new laws to tackle unfair parking fines.
Welsh Labour Government refuse to take responsibility for our failed healthcare, including access to GPs and dentists and is letting down our hardworking NHS staff. We need a new hospital, a Wrexham Carer's Strategy, and, most importantly, better outcomes for patients.
UK Government has given Wrexham Council £22.4m Shared Prosperity Funding to spend on local projects to transform Wrexham. I'm working to deliver the Gateway Project, to bring an MoJ Civil Service Hub to Wrexham, and for Wrexham to be made an Investment Zone, this would bring jobs and boost our economy to the tune of £80m.
207 extra police officers have joined North Wales Police since 2019 which will improve police visibility across Wrexham. I'll continue to support the police with dispersal orders, cracking down on anti-social behaviour and encouraging further neighbourhood policing.
As a veteran, I'll continue to support our Armed Forces community. Following the 'Atherton' Report the MoD has made significant changes for women in the military. Having secured the future of Hightown Barracks, we must build on, protect and advance our military footprint.
For two years, Welsh Government's policy on phosphates has halted ALL development. I continue to work on this and to find affordable ways to go green whilst not disadvantaging householders and businesses.
