Wrexham's MP, Sarah Atherton, has expressed her delight as the 5-mile cruel rule has been scrapped in Wales.
Sarah said:
"People in Wrexham and across Wales have given up significant freedoms during the course of the pandemic, but today they are getting an important one back.
"The Welsh Government was wrong to impose an arbitrary five-mile travel restriction on its citizens. Such a limit was unnecessary, undermined people's mental health and personal relationships, and made the reopening of many businesses unviable.
"I'm glad that the Welsh Government has finally listened concerns from residents and colleagues and has now decided to lift these unnecessary travel restrictions.
"People will be able to reunite with their loved ones for the first time in months, and businesses will finally be able to reopen their doors and get Wales' economy moving again."
