In June, I opened a competition on my website to find Wrexham's best pub - right in time for summer and the continued reopening of our town.
I am pleased to announce the winners of the competition were The Long Pull on Chester Street and The Nags Head on Mount Street!
It was really lovely to also read the great comments about both of these pubs. Of The Long Pull, respondents praised the traditional and relaxed atmosphere of the pub and the “friendly bar staff and fantastic land lady”. Whilst talking about The Nags Head, respondents commented on the great landlord and staff, the excellent range of drinks and the welcoming atmosphere for people of all ages.
Other pubs nominated included:
- The Welch Fusilier
- The Pant-Yr-Ochain
- Saith Seren
- Golden Lion, Rossett
- The Bowling Green
- Gate Hangs High
- The Royal Oak
- The Turf, Mold Road
- Gwersyllt Park Cricket Club
- King William Summerhill
- The Bank
- The Plough, Gresford
If you have never been to one of these pubs or venues, I would really urge you to go out and give one a try! As we recover from the pandemic, it is so important that we get out and support our local businesses so I hope this competition provides the push you need to go and try a new pub.
