Wrexham's newly elected MP has been elected onto both the Welsh Affairs and Defence Select Committees.
The Welsh Affairs Select Committee, Chaired Stephen Crabb, examines policies by the UK Government which impacts upon Wales and the work of the Secretary State for Wales, Simon Hart.
Following her election to the Committee Sarah Atherton Said: “I’m thrilled to have been elected to the Welsh Affairs Select Committee. I will be a strong voice for North Wales in the committee and in Westminster.”
Having proudly served in the army, was also elected onto the Defence Select Committee.
She added: “I am honoured to have been elected onto the Defence Select Committee and am committed to supporting our brave service personnel and veterans for their valuable contribution to our country.
“I hope to use my new position to help guide the policy direction of United Kingdom on the global stage, in particular when it comes to our defence strategy.”
