I have written to the Council to express my support for the application to make Dean Road Playing Field a town or village green. You can read my letter of support below.
Having previously objected to the plan to build 74 new homes on this area of open space, I feel that designating the open space as a green could provide protection from the building of new homes on the site. It would also acknowledge the widespread use of Dean Road Playing Field for exercise and socialising and the importance of the site for many Acton residents.
Whilst I acknowledge that more homes do need to be built in Wrexham, I strongly believe that brownfield land should be prioritised over green spaces. This site has strong local amenity value and I think the loss of this site would be a detriment to the local community.
