Following Sarah's Defence Committee Report, 'Protecting those who protect us: Women in the Armed Forces from Recruitment to Civilian Life', which looked at the experiences of women in the military, from recruitment to their transition to civilian life after service, Sarah questioned David Williams, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence about recruitment. After tabling a parliamentary question about the Defence Recruitment System (DRS), run by Capita, Sarah asked the Permanent Secretary about the recent breech of the system and the impact of that on recruitment. In response to Sarah's inquiry, the MOD have committed to a target of 30% females in the Armed Forces by 2030. With this in mind, Sarah raised the current freeze in recruitment in the Defence Committee.
