Yesterday (27th November), Wrexham's MP and former soldier, Sarah Atherton, made a socially distanced visit to Homes for Veterans Cymru in Aberconwy, alongside local MP Robin Millar.
Homes for Veterans Cymru focuses on providing safe spaces for veterans to focus on their future and get equipped with the necessary skills and support to move onto independent living and fulfilling lives. On any given night Homes for Veterans are able to keep over 115 Veterans off the streets.
Commenting on the visit, Sarah said:
"It was fantastic to see first hand the positive impact that homes for veterans Cymru are making to the lives of veterans across North Wales.
"I was particularly impressed to hear how their 'Field Kitchen Initiative is offering employment training and support to veterans, helping them gain employment.
"The skills and understanding they gain from such initiatives, combined with the safety of having a home and support, allow many of the veterans using this service to move forward, and rebuild links with family and friends."
