Making sure all those that live, work and socialise in Wrexham's town centre love it is one of my main priorities. That is why I have been working with businesses and local stakeholders to gauge views on a potential town centre project which, I believe, will enhance the street scene, make the town centre safer and draw people back in.
The project in question would involve the pedestrianisation of the High Street to allow for outdoor seating for hospitality businesses along the road and to make the street safer and more welcoming. Businesses have come to me with complaints about unsafe driving along the street, a lack of outdoor seating for businesses and an unattractive street scene due to the parked cars. The Police have also described their concerns with traffic on the street in the evenings, when the High Street becomes a popular night-time location.
That is why I think pedestrianisation of the street is a good idea and why I want to hear your views on the matter, so please do make contact if you have any comments - positive or negative - on the proposals. Or use the form below.
