The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has released a written statement on what progress they have made in response to the Defence Committee's Inquiry 'Protecting Those Who Protect Us: Women in the Armed Forces from Recruitment to Civilian Life'.
The progress which has been made includes:
Training developments around the concept of consent Transformation of the Service Complaints system
The stand-up of the Defence Serious Crime Unit HQ
Delivery of improvements to uniform and equipment for women
The Servicewomen’s Health Improvement Sprint
Two new policies and a strategy to deal with unacceptable sexual behaviour
Whilst there is still a long way to go, I am pleased with the progress that is being made which is making it abundantly clear that there is no place in Defence for unacceptable sexual behaviour.
