Today I had the pleasure of meeting the Wrexham Prostate Cancer Support Group to hear about the excellent work they are doing in the community. Recently, their great work was acknowledged at the Marjorie Dykins Volunteer Memorial Awards for their work over the past year, so it was great to be able to celebrate this with them too.
During the meeting, we also discussed their campaign for the introduction of a PSA tracker system in North Wales, which they are doing along with the Llangollen and Glan Clwyd Prostate Cancer Support Groups. The implementation and funding system for this has been agreed but there has been no action yet.
Finally, the Prostate Cancer Support Group also recently received a large grant from the Arnold Grant Community Fund, which was facilitated by my team and I, which was brilliant news to hear! I am very pleased to have, once again, been able to help a local community group with much needed funding and I would urge all groups in Wrexham to check out the funding page on my website or email for assistance.
