Having had a number of pieces of correspondence about rubbish and fly-tipping, such as a recent comment about the fly-tipping on Chain Road in Stansty, I went to see the situation for myself and to collect some litter whilst I was there. Sadly, it really didn't take long to collect a really large amount of rubbish, which is particularly concerning given the number of signs around which highlight that rubbish should not be left in the area.
More widely, I wholly recognise that litter and fly-tipping is becoming an increasingly important issue within the Wrexham area and I have made contact with the Council to make them aware of the situation.
However, whilst the Council is responsible for these matters, I know that many have taken matters into their own hands. In Wrexham, for example, we have seen the growth of litter picking groups, which is having a positive effect on the area. I therefore applaud the work of these groups!
If know of any areas around Wrexham that are particularly affected by litter and fly-tipping, please do raise these concerns with me and I will make contact with the relevant authorities to highlight them.
