It was an honour to host and speak at Airbus’ event in Parliament last night. Everybody knows Airbus for its commercial aircraft wings, built close to my constituency in North Wales, but it is also the UK's biggest space company.
Even better, I was absolutely delighted to be joined by two brilliant Airbus space partners from Wrexham, Glyndwr University and Tritech.
We had the pleasure of hearing from the Minister for Science, Research and Innovation, Oriel Petry from Airbus, the Director General of the European Space Agency, and the Director of Earth Observation.
After speeches, we witnessed the multi million pound contract signing for the major FORUM mission, which will provide new insights into the planet's radiation budget, improving our climate models.
I look forward to continuing to work closely with Airbus in all aspects of their work to ensure we bring economic growth and build upon the strong foundation of jobs in North East Wales.
