The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rushi Sunak, has recently announced (13 April) a further financial package to further bolster public services in Wales during the COVID-19 pandemic. The additional £350 million is a result of the UK Government’s spending from the emergency response fund for which Wales receives something called ‘Barnett consequentials’.
This takes the total UK Government pledge to the Welsh Government fight the Coronavirus to nearly £2 billion.
However my role as your MP is to challenge the Welsh Government to ensure this money is spent on what it is intended for, supporting the work of our front line workers in Wrexham and ensuring they get the equipment they need, at the time needed to undertake their work safely.
