Last week, I was honoured to be invited, along with the Defence Select Committee, on a visit to Bovington Camp, Dorset where the Committee were provided with a demonstration of how UK military land forces operate, briefings on UK military capabilities, and an opportunity to ask senior commanders about approaches and equipment. As you can see from the pictures, we were also provided with the opportunity to fly in a Chinook, a vital machine in the UK military.
Importantly, the trip will also support the Defence Select Committee’s role scrutinising UK Government defence policy and legislation by providing a first-hand insight into current UK military capabilities and actions.
