As a veteran myself and a member of the Defence Select Committee, I was delighted that 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards, ‘the Welsh Cavalry’ conducted their homecoming parade earlier today in Wrexham for the first time in 13 years! The Regiment, who have just returned from their 12-month peacekeeping NATO mission in Mali, received a very warm welcome home from Wrexham residents.
Wrexham has a long and proud military heritage, and only less than a month ago our new city proudly hosted North Wales Armed Forces Day which saw hundreds of residents line the streets to show their thanks and support for our Armed Forces. I am a passionate champion of our Armed Forces and the significance of the military footprint in Wales.
