Chester zoo is the biggest charity zoo in the UK and residents are so grateful to have it on our doorstep. The conservation work they do around the world is vital in preventing extinction.
I have lobbied the Government and written to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, urging them to consider allowing Chester zoo to reopen their doors with social distancing measures in place. You can view my letter here.
Losing Chester Zoo would be devastating to residents in Wrexham and beyond in North Wales, but also for the conservation movement across the world, which relies heavily on this institution.
