I completely understand the concerns of residents and businesses about Wrexham’s town centre and that’s why I’m campaigning for more investment in the high street, a reduction in homelessness and changes to parking. I will also be continuing my support for local businesses - we have so many in Wrexham, and they all make Wrexham the special place that it is.

I’m working with Wrexham Council and local charities to do more to help rough sleepers by pursuing funding streams and supporting WCBC efforts to reduces homelessness in Wrexham.

I am seeking your views on the issues relating to parking, so that these can be raised in Parliament. From correspondence, I know that parking has been an issue for many in Wrexham, which is having knock-on detrimental effects on businesses and tourism across the town. However, I won’t stop there. I’ll continue to work with small businesses in Wrexham to lobby the Welsh Government for business rate changes here in Wales so that business rates are fairer, and more in line with England,

Whilst many of these areas of policy are devolved to the Welsh Government, I know that this is something the UK Government is also intent on improving. The Levelling Up agenda, for one, will put power back in the communities’ hands, by to giving Local Authorities communities the ability to invest and improve their own areas. I am pleased to be working with the UK Government, the Council and groups from Wrexham to ensure that we take advantage of the opportunities.
