Improving Healthcare Access in Wrexham

Thank you NHS

As we exit the pandemic, making sure all residents have access to excellent healthcare is one of my main priorities. The pandemic has weakened North Wales' already fragile healthcare system, which is why I am standing up for residents' concerns about healthcare access by calling on the Welsh Government to do the following:

  • Initiate an inquiry into healthcare in Wrexham to make sure residents' concerns are listened to and to ensure that the current failings are recognised.
  • Open a walk-in centre in Wrexham to alleviate pressure on GPs and A&E.
  • Put clinicians back at the centre of the decision-making in the health board to improve management decisions.

So far, the Welsh Government's Minister for Health and Social Care has rejected my suggestion of an inquiry into healthcare services in Wrexham, showing that the Welsh Government does not want to listen to residents' concerns. However, I will continue to stand up for residents.
