Issues relating to GP services in Wrexham have been front and centre of much of the correspondence coming into my emails, whether that be relating to the temporary closure of Borras Park Surgery, or the consultation on the closure of the Gresford Health Centre, part of the Alyn Family Practice.
Following comments from constituents and elected officials, I have already written to Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) about the situation at Hillcrest Medical Centre and Borras Park Surgery and I will continue to raise the issues constituents face with BCUHB. You can read the letter I recently sent to BCUHB about this below.
I have also made clear my views on the planned closure of the Gresford Health Centre and I will continue support residents on this matter.
I am also campaigning to bring a Maggie's Cancer Centre to North Wales because it is important that cancer patients and their families have access to one of these centres. Given that, through the philanthropy of generous donors, the funding for the centre is in place I now think it is important for Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board to push this through.
